Camp Lutherhaven

The kids all went to Camp Lutherhaven this summer.  This was Emma's first time and she did a half of a week and the boys did a full week.  I was the medic for the week and Nate came along as my assistant.  We had so much fun and loved every minute of it.  For those of you that do not know, Nate resigned from WSU a couple of months ago.  He now has a remote job from home doing software engineering and loves it.  It was nice that he could bring his office with us to Lutherhaven and work while he was there.  We loved having him there with us all week!

This was right outside the medic apartment.  The kids had fun playing around. We went up a day early to get settled and the kids got to stay with us the first night.

One of the most best views in the world!

Some family basketball.

A little one-on-one. :)

Nate brought his kayak and went out on the lake almost every evening.  He loved it!

He decided to try flipping his kayak and practice getting back in. Well...

He was the first person that got to go to urgent care that week.  37 years old and he has never had a broken bone or stitches and he got to get a few stitches.  Later that week he took them out on his own.  He didn't even let me do it! I was bummed. :)

Emma with her group!  She did very well, got homesick the second day, but after some talks and hanging out she was able to go back with her group and we picked her up on the third day.

Charlie sure loves to get up and sing during worship.

Emma happened to know her group leader because we went to church with her family.  That was wonderful and helped her a lot since this was her first time.

Getting ready for their swim test.

Cooper and his new friend James!

Charlie and Luke!

Worship on Lake Coeur d' Alene!

Emma's group singing songs at the end of their week.

Writing about her week at camp.

A few pictures Camp Lutherhaven staff captured of our kids.

Cooper's group got to canoe a couple miles down and camp outside for the night.  He enjoyed the adventure.  Nate even kayaked over to see them that evening.

Worn out, but gets to stay with mom and dad the rest of the week.

The winds were crazy the next day coming back, but they made it!

We got a brief break to go play miniature gold.  Emma loved it!

So proud of Cooper for trying to climb this.  He has a terrible fear for heights.  He even did the high ropes, which I did not see.

Water time is always a favorite.

Courtney and Emma roasting marshmallows.

Camp wide water fight so fun!

Until next year Lutherhaven!  There were approximately 100 kiddos at camp the week we went.  We gave out 138 medications for 38 kids, treated over 50 kiddos, sent a few to urgent care, a couple home, got to know amazing people!  It was champ camp as well that week and was our first time being around special needs kids/adults.  They were so fun!  We loved getting to know them, laughing with them and just spending time with them all.
