Christmas!!

We had a wonderful, relaxing Christmas Eve as a family.  We went to the 7pm service at church and it was beautiful.  The kids all did really well.  Cooper and Charlie got to hold the candles during silent night and did a great job!  We were a little worried that Charlie might start something on fire, but he didn't. :)

All dressed and ready for the candlight service.

 Christmas Eve smooch.  :)

Christmas morning Megan heard the boys around 5:30.  She went out and they were both at the top of the stairs looking down.  They saw Santa had come.  She had them go back to bed for two hours. They did and came to get us when they woke up.  Charlie wasn't scared to come downstairs this year like last year.

Yeager loved his present! The tongue tells it all.

Emma's favorite gift in her stocking.

 Don't shoot your eye out!

Charlie made us a special Candle holder at preschool.

Christmas dinner.  Yum!  Everett slept through all of dinner. When he woke up he had a huge plate of food and dessert right after. :)

We had a wonderful afternoon and Christmas dinner with Putensen's. Amanda, Jacob, and Levon came over for dessert.  Fun times!

Merry Christmas to all our family & friends!

May this holiday be filled with fun memories and Commemorating Jesus' birth.

Luke 2:9-12
And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear. (10) And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy that will be for all the people. (11) For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. (12) And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year friends!

Love,
Nate, Meggs, Cooper, Charlie & Emma

Locomotive Park

This week we went down to Lewiston to look at Christmas lights with our friends.  Locomotive park looked beautiful.  I think they add more lights every year.  It was so colorful.  The kids had fun running around and we froze. Thanks friends for a fun filled evening!

Jackson, Charlie, Coop, and Waylon

Putensen's were here too.  The picture of them all must be on their camera.

In the igloo!  Charlie looks like a chipmunk here.

Visting Grandma Verla.  We took her some yummy goodies and Emma is eyeing them.

Rain Gutter Regatta

Last week the Genesee Cubs Scouts hosted a Rain Gutter Regatta for their December Pack meeting.  Charlie got to join in and build a boat with Cooper.  They had a great time sanding, painting many coats on their boats, and putting decals on them.  The night of this fun event, we had dinner, voted for different categories, and then began racing.  This was very hard for Cooper.  It was most of these boys first time ever putting their boats in the water.  So they were not sure whether to use a straw or to just use their mouth and blow their boat.  Cooper won the first race and then lost the next two.  He was heartbroken.  He was upset most of the night.  Hopefully he learned from this lesson, that he won't win at everything and he just needs to have fun and "Do his best!"  Then he wanted to race his brother who really beat him. It didn't go well. Here are some pictures from the night.

Coop's boat is the one on the far left in the front and Charlie's is the second boat from the left in the back row.

Enjoying dinner with our friends before the event.

 Here he goes!

Coop was so sad.  They all got certificates & metals.  Coop received a sailboat medaillion and his Leave No Trace Outdoor Ethics Badge. Trophies and gift cards were also handed out.

Charlie's Holiday Party at Preschool

Yesterday, Charlie had his first Christmas Party at preschool.  He had a great time!  The parents who planned the party did a great job.  They sang Happy Birthday to Jesus and then enjoyed some cake, listened to a Christmas story and then made gingerbread houses.

Yummy!  Emma enjoyed a slice too.

Lining up to go listen to the Christmas story upstairs.

Drawing windows and doors on his Gingerbread house.

Emma had fun playing too!

Cooper's holiday party is on Tuesday before they go on vacation.

1st Graders sining at the Senior Citizens Center

Christmas Program

Today was the Christmas program at church.  The children gave the message today and sang four songs throughout the service. They all did a great job!  This morning Cooper said he did not was to dress up or sing.  Well after the practice started he wanted to join in.  But, he didn't want to wear a costume.  Charlie memorized all his lines and even remembered them.  He said, "Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth.  Break forth into joyous song and sing praises."  I wish we had remembered the video camera.  He dressed as a leopard.

Singing, "This little light of mine."  She waved her finger back and forth like the children were doing.

A quick photo before we left for church.  Thanks Aunt Patty and Uncle Bill for the adorable dress for Emma!

And a couple of pictures from 4-H today.
They made yummy baking mixes in jars as their community service project.

 Look at all those!

Cooper's winter concert!

Tonight was the winter performance for K-3rd grade.  We had fun watching all the grades sing songs of America and holiday songs.  Cooper did very well. Emma enjoyed swaying her arms to the music.  This age is so fun.  I noticed all the teeth missing tonight as they sang.  Glad mom was able to be here this year.  Enjoy the pictures and videos.

Charlie was the only one who wanted to see Santa this year.  They did go mail their Santa cards this afternoon.

Emma was not interested in sitting on Santa's lap.  She did say hi to him while I held her.
