Camp Lutherhaven Work Weekend

This weekend we ventured to Camp Lutherhaven, which is about 10 miles from Coeur d' Alene.  It was their annual work weekend.  It has been almost three years since we have been up there.  The boys have been begging to go.  Emma was about five months old the last time we went.  It was pretty chilly, but we made it. :)  We saw 7 elk and about 15 deer on the way.  We got to stay in a nice cabin with a fireplace.  Meals were fabulous as usual.  Thanks Lutherhaven and we will be back in July for mini-camp!

The best part was playing on the bunk beds. Charlie slept on the top the first night.  Cooper couldn't do it yet. He tried, but ended up on the bottom. :)

The first event was Friday evening devotions and then smores.  Emma and Charlie rocked out to the music. Coop watched everyone else. :)

 Yum!

 The view is absolutely gorgeous

Warming up with some hot cocoa before lunch.  Megan and the kids painted large animal figures in the wood shop all morning.  Nate helped work on a Yurt all day.

There were seven deer close right to where Nate was helping with the Yurt.  You can see where the zip line runs through that area.  Nate and I went on that years ago.
One of the new yurts.  Two others are being built.

This one is used for arts and crafts.

This morning we took a walk down to the water before morning devotions, music and brunch.  Charlie said, "There are fish in this water? I'm not swimming in there."

Nate helping out in the kitchen.  Megan helped out with lunch and dinner on Saturday.

About 20 minutes after we left all the kids and Megan were asleep.  Fun, tiring, cold, weekend.  We helped paint, wash walls after sanding was complete to get ready for staining, wiped down worship chairs, and Nate worked on the Yurt, we visited with friends we haven't seen in a while and made new friends. Charlie met a new girl friend at camp and decided to have breakfast with her family this morning. It was so cute! As they were saying good bye, Charlie gave the girl his phone number. It was pretty funny.  He was trying to get her to come back to mini-camp in July so he could see her again.  Lutherhaven is one of God's most beautiful creations.
